A compassionate small pet euthanasia service in Liverpool, Manchester and the North West. We offer services for rabbits, hamsters, gerbils and all types of small pets.
Small furries and birds also find visits to the vet very stressful. Just as with cats and dogs at home calm, stress free euthanasia is a humane alternative to that stressful final visit to the vets. A first sedative injection will be given and once this has taken affect a second injection will be given and your beloved pet will slip gently away.

What to expect
I will at the pre-arranged time and spend time getting to know you and your pet. I will explain each step prior to it happening and make sure you are comfortable with the process. My job is to work around you – not the other way round. After the first injection your pet will slip gently into a very deep and calm sleep. Once fully asleep a second injection is given after which they will slip gently, peacefully away.

Just like cats and dogs you may choose to bury your pet at home or cremation can be arranged. This can be arranged at the time the home euthanasia is booked.

How will I know when the time is right?
This is one of the most simple to ask and complex to answer questions. Very often people turn. to cliches; things such as “You’ll know when the time is right”, “Your dog/cat will let you know” or “The right decision is easy to make”. My answer to these based on nearly 50 years of pet ownership and over 30 years as a vet is that the all we can ever do is make the best decision we can we with the information available to us at a given point in time. I bring a very intuitive and flexible approach to this question to help owners arrive at a decision that is the correct one for them.

What happens after my pet has passed away?
This is discussed at the booking stage. I work closely with carefully chosen pet crematoria. Some people want to take their pets to the crematorium. Others prefer it to be collected by the crematorium. Alternatively you may want to bury your pet at home or organise the crematorium themselves.
For small animals, cats and dogs up to 10kg I am happy to transfer them to the crematorium for a small additional fee.
How much notice do you need to book?
I work visits around other work commitments, so as much notice as you can give is really helpful. If you are needing an urgent last minute visit I will help if I can however I can’t guarantee to be available. It is especially helpful to plan visits ahead of time to be able to tie in with crematoriums, although they do try to be flexible, as I do.
