Starting practice as a mixed vet I realised my calling lay in the treatment of pets. I transitioned to a solely pet based practice. After years in general practice with a special interest in surgery, I took a break. Witnessing my cat’s distress during a vet visit inspired me to start a home euthanasia practice. This has been a fulfilling career, allowing pet owners to say goodbye to their pet’s calmly, peacefully and at home – exactly as I say my final farewells.
What to expect
Consultation
When we first speak on the phone, I’ll start by getting your and your pet’s details. You may have already made your mind up in which case we’ll discuss timings and get you booked in. If you need help with aftercare, I can help you arrange that. Should you, however, need a more in-depth consultation I offer a Zoom consultation service where I can help you arrive at the right decision for you. Every aspect will be guided by what is right for you.
At Home on the day
When I arrive, we will spend some time getting to know each other. Nothing is left to chance and each step explained in simple language such that there are no surprises. I can’t make this less sad for you, but I can remove much of the trauma associated with final goodbyes. For specific details please go to the relevant animal section under the services heading
Aftercare
You may wish to bury your beloved pet at home however these days many people go for individual cremation with ashes either being picked up by yourselves or hand delivered by the crematorium back to you. I can help arrange this for you. Once again everything is tailored to your needs and wishes
